Editor, 3D Print Picks

Keira Hale writes the buying guides on 3D Print Picks. The remit is narrow on purpose: which 3D printer a UK buyer should get, at what price, from which shop, and what the machine will refuse to do.

The guides are researched rather than tested, and the pages say so. Specifications come from manufacturers' own documentation and are attributed to the model revision actually on sale — an SE, a Pro and a 2025 version are three different machines, and roundups routinely mix them up. Prices are given as ranges, read from UK stores on a date the page states, because a figure that looks live is out of date the week after it is written. Owner experience is taken from patterns across many reports, never from a single review, and no page here quotes a customer or reproduces a rating.

Where a figure cannot be confirmed from a primary source, it is left out. A guide missing a specification is more use than one that invents it, and several tables on this site have blank cells for exactly that reason.

The other half of the job is checking what is still real. Manufacturers replace models quietly, and a guide that has not been re-checked will keep recommending a printer that left the range months ago. Every commercial page here is refreshed quarterly, availability is verified before a machine is recommended, and printers have been dropped from finished drafts for being out of UK stock.

3D Print Picks earns a commission when a reader buys through a link on the site. That pays for the research and changes nothing about which printer wins a category — the reasoning is on the page so you can disagree with it.

The method behind every page is set out in full in how we review, and the commercial arrangement in the affiliate disclosure.
